Miles of Mouldings
Kathy Ziprik

ARCHBOLD, OHIO – Crown. Dentil. Cove. Fascia. Every day there are miles of urethane mouldings created at Fypon in more than 270 decorative profiles. Lightweight and durable, long lengths of urethane mouldings are faster and easier to install than built-up wood mouldings. And, urethane mouldings resist warping, rotting, mildew and insect infestations.

“The advantages of using urethane mouldings in the home are endless," according to Greg Wolf, marketing director of Fypon. “Crisp, clean lines are moulded into each piece, providing consistency that wood simply can't offer. Urethane can be painted, faux finished or stained to complement a home's interior. And, the incredible variety of profiles makes it simple to customize a different look for every room."

To match the needs of homeowners and building industry professionals, Fypon offers 60 different crown mouldings, 41 fascia profiles, 16 cove mouldings and more than 60 dentil mouldings. Additionally, the company excels at producing some of the most popular mouldings in the marketplace, including egg and dart, Florentine, beaded boards, art deco and casings.

“Combined, we sell thousands of miles of moulding lengths each year," says Wolf. “The variety of moulding sizes and profiles is staggering. You can select a crown moulding that is just 1-1/4-inch in height or one that is 15-3/4-inches high. No matter what ceiling height you have and are trying to accent, we have a crown moulding ideally suited to the project."

In addition to “topping off a ceiling" with crown mouldings, Fypon also offers chair rail, base board and base cap mouldings to finish the entire room. And, for people not wishing to work with complicated miter cutting, Fypon offers a Miterless Crown Moulding System that involves straight cuts of mouldings attached to the wall that meet up with corner and dentil pieces for a fast, professional installation.

Fypon mouldings are available in 8-, 12- and 16-foot lengths for ease of installation. Once installed, the closed cell structure of the high density synthetic materials prevents water penetration and absorption.

More than 270 urethane moulding profiles are offered by Fypon, including more than a dozen mouldings with authentic wood grain patterns cast directly into each piece to resemble wood profiles. Woodgrain moulding pieces from Fypon come with a primer coat that accepts both non-penetrating stain and paint in any color. Unlike wood, the Fypon pieces require minimal sanding in between coats or sealing of the pieces when the final finish is achieved. Most importantly, urethane mouldings are not deteriorated by high temperatures or humidity levels, freezing temperatures or salt air. This makes them ideally suited for bathrooms, laundry rooms and kitchens inside the home.

Fypon offers thousands of decorative millwork elements in a variety of architectural styles to enhance the interior and exterior of America's homes. Each piece is crafted from tough, weather-proof, high-performance materials that are impervious to decay, insect infestation and water damage for long-lasting beauty and low maintenance. Part of consumer products company Fortune Brands, Inc. (NYSE: FO), Fypon is a brand name leader in the synthetics millwork industry.
